Seth Greenberg ACC Coach of the Year

2nd time in 4 years...well deserved

There were 4 coaches in the league that deserved it more than Greenberg this year. I will agree that he deserved it the first go around. To give it to Greenberg over the following coaches doesn't really make sense to me:

Gadio
Haith
Purnell
Roy Williams
Coach K

Haith and Gaudio are the only ones who had an argument...Krzyzewski and Williams just did what they were expected...to take a team who went to the 2nd round of the NCAA and lose 6 guys and still finish 4th in the conference is more than deserving of the award

K did a marvelous job coaching this year, Williams won the league without his point guard. All Greenberg did was beat up on the worst teams in the ACC. The best win he had was over Maryland.

VT won 9 games over teams 6-12 in the ACC. They have zero wins over the top 5 in the league. Not what I would say is much of an accomplishment.

Yeah, im shaking my head at this one. I would have gave it to Clemson or Miami's coach.

shake your head all you want, they werent expected to win 3 games this year, much less 9 and finish 4th

In all seriousness I don't think there is a team in the ACC who couldn't have won 9 games with that schedule. It was by far the easiest schedule in the history of ACC Basketball (conference wise). They got very lucky in terms of piling up wins, they played UNC, Duke, and Clemson 3 times total. NC St. the 12th place team played those teams a combined 6 times. VT was 0-3 against those teams NC St. was 0-6, NC St. handled VT easily this year, it's all about the schedule now in the ACC. UVA rode it to their success last year and VT used it this year. VT is very lucky in the fact they can have years where they don't have to play UNC/Duke twice. Wake Forest, NC St, and Maryland don't have that luxury. Another reason why they need to figure out a way to even up the ACC schedule, really penalizes some teams.

they played NCSU once, at NCSU and lost by 10...not exactly "handled easily"

against the teams who were the middle of the pack (5th-9th place) VT went 5-3, with 6 freshmen playing 70% of the minutes

no matter what schedule VT played it's an ACC schedule, and they won 9 of the games, it's not like they played some bad team 3 times
